Ticketing, Seating, & Video/Photo Policies

A quick note: Poison Apple is a non-profit 501c3 organization managed by volunteers who are not on a standard schedule. We ask you to be patient and allow for at least a 24 hour response time. POISON APPLE PLAYHOUSE & ACADEMY

NEW FOR SPRING 2026: OUR SEATING IS NOW RESERVED! Patrons will choose their seats at the time of purchase based on the seating chart posted on our ticketing website. Audience members are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to showtime. This allows for patrons to find parking, check in with our audience services manager and review their seat location. In order to enter our Playhouse venue, patrons must be able climb one 6- inch step. Due to our reserved seating it is important to note our seating is on raised platforms. If you require a mobility accommodation (non-wheelchair), please reach out prior to purchasing tickets so our ticketing volunteers can walk you through options.

TICKETING

Players, Ensemble, Shakes, Teens, & Main Stage Performances: Patrons of all ages must have a ticket for entrance into the show. No lap children allowed.

Seeds (I, II & III) Performances: Children under 3 are free IF sitting on the lap of an adult paying patron. (Children under 3 may occupy a seat only if there is space available. Please check with the House Manager.) Strollers may not block aiseles or emergency exits and may need to stay in the Annex if there is no room in the performance space.

Summer Camp Performances: Children under 3 are free IF sitting on the lap of an adult paying patron. (Children under 3 may occupy a seat only if there is space available. Ticket Refunds: All tickets purchased are final salewe do not offer refunds. Please make sure to double check you are purchasing for the right day and time. All Apple Seeds performances are class based, i.e. Monday classes only perform on Mondays, Tuesday classes perform on Tuesdays, etc. Please double check you have purchased for the correct day and time. While we understand plans change, we cannot offer refunds under any circumstance.

Ticket Exchanges: Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same event, depending upon availability. Tickets must be exchanged PRIOR to the show. We cannot guarantee seats will be available for the show requested and we do not offer refunds in these instances. 

Ticket Transfers: You may transfer tickets to anyone as needed. The easiest and fastest way to achience this is to simply send a screenshot of your confirmation showing your name and the seat they will be using. Your guest will check in using your last name. 

Ticket Fees: All ticket prices include service and convience fees charged to Poison Apple by vendors. These fee are shown prior to checkout. 

Wait Lists: Shows tend to sell out quickly and may provide a waitlist opportunity if demand is high. If a waitlist is avaialble, it will be noted on our website and managed by our Audience Services Manager who will reach out to patrons as tickets become available.

BOX OFFICE

Our box office will open approximately 30 minutes prior to performance start and concessions may be available for purchase, depending on staffing. Patrons are encouraged to get to the playhouse at least 20 minutes prior to show start. Our volunteer House Managers will check in patrons and will help patrons find their seat on a seating chart. You will check in using the last name of the person who bought the tickets. Physical printed tickets are not needed. Please make sure to speak to the House Manager prior to making your way to the lobby and/or playhouse. This process may take time and we kindly as for your patience. Patrons are encouraged to wait in the lobby prior to the show.

SEATING

Seating is reserved at the time of purchase based on the seating chart shown on our ticketing webstie. In order to enter our Playhouse venue, patrons must be able to walk and climb one 6- inch step or purchase the ADA wheelchair seat. For the safety of our actors, if for any reason you must leave the theater during a performance, there is no re-entry back into the performance space. If available, you may sit in the Annex lobby and watch the performance from our video feed.

Annex Lobby Seating (for shows performed in the PA Playhouse): We have a limited number of seats available in our lobby should a show sell out and you still wish to watch from our video feed. Please ask our Audience Services Manager for ticketing information or speak to our House Manager at the time of the show.

Late Seating: Due to the nature of our theater, late seating cannot be accommodated. Patrons must arrive prior to show start with ample time to find their seat. If patrons arrive late there are no exceptions. There are no refunds or exchanges for late arrivals. House Managers will provide patrons with a seat in the Annex Lobby if available.

ADA/Wheelchair Seating: The Poison Apple Playhouse can accommodate one wheelchair/mobility apparatus per performance. Please be sure to indicate your need for accommodation when purchasing your ticket(s) by purchasing the correct ADA labeled seat on our seating chart. This special seat is provided on a first come, first served basis. Please reach out to our ticketing volunteers if you need help with purchasing.

Mobility/Accessibility Seating: In order to enter our Playhouse venue, patrons must be able climb one 6- inch step. Due to our reserved seating it is important to note our seating is on raised platforms. For those who cannot climb 6 inch steps, center floor seating is recommended and can be found on our seating chart labeled in section “Floor Seats” numbered at B101-B108 and A101-A106.

Assisted Listening/Hearing Impairment: Unfortunatley, are venues not equipped with assistive listening systems for hearing impaired patrons and our shows often do not include microphones for our actors.

LESHER CENTER FOR THE ARTS

On occasion, our Players, Ensemble, Teen, and Mainstage shows are performed at Lesher Center for the Arts in downtown Walnut Creek. All ticketing for these shows is handled by The Lesher Center. Please visit www.lesherartscenter.org or call 925.943-7469 for tickets and questions regarding their venue.

VIDEOGRAPHY AND PHOTOGRAPHY POLICIES

Poison Apple produces all shows in accordance and under contract with various theatrical copyright companies. In order to perform, adapt, or record a copyrighted play publicly, Poison Apple legally purchases performance rights through established agencies like Music Theatre International (MTI) or Concord Theatricals. Due to these licensing restrictions, there is no videography or photography allowed during the performance of any show, in any venue. There are no exceptions.

Patron Violations: If a patron isound to be in violation of this policy, they will be asked to delete any picture or video recording on their device (phone, camera, etc) and may be asked to leave the theater. Additionally, if Poison Apple is found to be in violation of their contract with any company and fined/penalized, the violating patron will assume all financial penalties incured by Poison Apple.
